Ant-Man And The Wasp: Rate And Discuss With Spoilers

Just when you thought you were done with Marvel movies for 2018, along comes Ant-Man and The Wasp to charm the pants off of you, and with any luck, the rest of the world. It feels like the right moment to revisit the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Avengers: Infinity War probably has some of you hungering for more comic excitement on the big screen. So naturally, the timing's right to ask you, the audience, to rate and discuss Marvel Studios' latest cinematic spectacle.

The critical opinion of the film seems to be that the film is a light change of pace that breezes along, albeit on a more confident path than Ant-Man. Our own Conner Schwerdtfeger echoes similar sentiments in his official review, as he stated the following:

Bolder, funnier, and far more daring than the film that preceded it, Ant-Man and the Wasp is also slightly less even and narratively tight.

Meanwhile, the our weekly superhero podcast, HeroBlend, recently got to sit down with director Peyton Reed for a 30 minute interview in which he discussed many different big and important aspects about both Ant-Man And The Wasp and his characters' future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Give it a listen by clicking play on the embed below!

Critics aside, it's time for all of you in the viewing public to share their thoughts in these spoiler-proofed walls! Apparently, there's nothing Hank Pym can't invent, and there's no limit, besides decency and grammar, to what you can share with us in the comments below! As an aide to your thoughts summing up Ant-Man and The Wasp, feel free to use the following discussion questions as inspiration:

How would you rank Ant-Man and The Wasp when stacked up against this year's Marvel offerings / the MCU at large?Which did you enjoy more: Ant-Man or Ant-Man and The Wasp? After the downer that was Avengers: Infinity War, do you feel that Ant-Man and The Wasp was the right movie to follow it up?Should Ant-Man and The Wasp have split the stories of Ghost's cure and Janet van Dyne's rescue into two different films?Does the tone of the first post-credits scene, depicting the Pym / Van Dyne family turning to ash, feel like an ill timed twist?Should Luis and Jimmy Woo get their own spin-off, or should Jimmy just join the ranks of XCon Security -- for a spin-off with the whole gang?Is Scott Lang the best dad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Now remember, you can read all of our coverage on Ant-Man and The Wasp on the film's official preview page, but before we go, we'd like to suggest some post-film / pre-revisiting reading material. First, just in case you wanted to make sure those post-credits scenes were indeed the ones you saw in the theater, take a look at our break down of what exactly happened in both ending tags to the film. Also, if you want to connect the dots a little better between Ant-Man and its sequel, we have a list of things folks should remember before going into the second film. It's ok if you haven't read this prior to seeing Ant-Man and The Wasp, as knowledge is a door that opens both ways.

If you happened to see the film in 2D last night, and want to know if it's worth revisiting in a 3D viewing, you can read our verdict in the film's To 3D or Not To 3D review. Finally, if you're a toy collector, you might be interested to read the story of just how Paul Rudd made Hasbro's job of capturing his likeness for an action figure all the easier. And with that, we'll shrink the Rate and Discuss forum down to a more compact size, storing it away until next week when we discuss Dwayne Johnson's Skyscraper. Until next time, have fun with whatever you choose to see this weekend!

So people have seen Ant-Man and the Wasp now, and it will be in theaters this weekend. Excitement is inevitable, everyone will have theories and as a result spoilers will be unleashed, but we must contain all of that within this thread. So discuss away!
