John Boyega Is Super Psyched For Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Finn in The Last Jedi

It's a very exciting time for Star Wars fans, as we're just a series of months away from the release of The Rise of Skywalker. J.J. Abram's highly anticipated blockbuster will end the Skywalker Saga forever. And all eyes are on how the nine-film narrative will finally be wrapped up. And aside from Episode IX's upcoming arrival, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will also open to immerse generations of fans into the beloved space opera.

We're just days away from the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and the fans are eager to see what the theme park will include, and how it'll help to expand the galaxy far, far away. But the cast of the franchise is also excited to for the park's opening-- especially John Boyega. The Finn actor recently posted about his excitement on social media, check it out:

While John Boyega might not be at the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the 27-year old actor is excited for fans to meet the cast that's been assembled to bring the theme park to life. What's more, it looks like his character Finn will have a role in one of the highly anticipated new rides.

John Boyega's Instagram post shows the crew of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, assembled before the droves of theme park denizens descend to see everything the attraction is capable of. The new park looks cool enough to get any self-respecting Star Wars fan excited-- complete with a massive Millennium Falcon. And with just a few months left before The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters, Galaxy's Edge is the perfect way to satiate fans while they patiently wait for the franchise's return to theaters.

It should be interesting to see how much of a presence Finn has in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, especially since we don't know how the former Stormtrooper ends up during The Rise of Skywalker. John Boyega teased he had a role in one of the upcoming rides, and the most likely is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The upcoming attraction will focus on the battle against the First Order, which is something that Finn knows a thing or two about as a protagonist of the current trilogy.

But the other ride, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run doesn't seem out of the question for a Finn appearance. The character has spent plenty of time aboard the iconic vessel, especially in The Force Awakens. And with the heroes teased to stay together during the events of Episode IX, smart money says Finn will be boarding the Falcon before too long.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will no doubt make a ton of money, and attract countless theme park visitors to its attractions. And with The Rise of Skywalker arriving so shortly after its release, smart money says the park will go through changes following the blockbuster's release. But considering how closely the property guards its secrets, there's no telling what might go down in the next release.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will officially open in Disneyland on May 31st, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will arrive in theaters on December 20th. In the meantime, check out our 2019 release list to plan your next trip to the movies.

Did Avengers: Endgame Already Reveal Captain Marvel’s New Suit?

Did Avengers: Endgame Already Reveal Captain Marvel’s New Suit?

After a long year of waiting, Avengers: Endgame is just days away. Casual Moviegoers and hardcore Marvel fans alike have anxiously awaited the next installment in the franchise, which will pick up the narrative after Infinity War's shocking twist ending. Thanos' victory wiped out half of all life, and the surviving heroes are going to need all the help they can get in order to take the fight to the Mad Titan.

Luckily for The Avengers, help is on the way. Brie Larson's Captain Marvel will cross over to the rest of the MCU when she appears in Endgame, bringing a ton of power with her. Fans are eager to catch back up with Carol Danvers, and the newest Endgame trailer may have revealed her new suit. Check out a screenshot below.

Get psyched Captain Marvel fans, because it looks like she may be getting her signature sash and new suit in Avengers: Endgame. The above image shows a costume that looks decidedly different than it did in her origin story, including the sash from the character's comic book appearance.

This new image is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment from the most recent trailer for Avengers: Endgame. That clip focused on the MCU's long tenure in theaters, and included only a few brief moments from the upcoming ensemble project. But even the smallest cuts will be dissected by the rabid Marvel fanbase, which is exactly what happened and eventually resulted in the above shot being shared on Twitter.

Captain Marvel's upcoming costume change will excite the hardcore comic book fans, who can judge movie adaptations based on how accurately they represented action on the page. Carol Danvers has gone through a ton of costumes throughout the years, although most of them feature a sash around her waist. That was absent from the functional suit that she was given in Captain Marvel, but it appears that may change in her second appearance in the MCU.

While a sash seems like a small detail, it would connect Captain Marvel's costume to her comic book roots. What's more, it'll give her flying sequences an extra level of movement, since her suit doesn't exactly have much give. Now the question is: how does she get the new duds?

As a reminder, you can check out the new trailer below. Captain Marvel's upcoming costume change briefly flashes onscreen in its final moments.

Marvel fans are eager to see Carol Danvers finally join the greater MCU, and interact with the Avengers who didn't fade away to dust as a result of The Decimation. She's got a big ego, and should clash interestingly with more comedic characters like Iron Man and Rocket. But she's also got a few decades of superheroics under her belt, so the ego might be warranted.

All will be revealed when Avengers: Endgame arrives in theaters on April 26th. In the meantime, fill out our Endgame death pool, and check out our 2019 release list to plan your next trip to the movies.

Final Pet Semetary Trailer Is All About Creepy Kids

Final Pet Semetary Trailer Is All About Creepy Kids

With the remake of Pet Sematary hitting theaters this Friday, few probably need any more encouragement to check it out. It's either your kind of movie or its not. However, one final trailer has been released ahead of the film, and if you were at all worried that the new version of the classic Stephen King story wasn't creepy enough, the final trailer should have you covered. Check it out.

While the final trailer for Pet Sematary might be fairly brief, it's incredibly effective. The creepiness scale is off the charts. Watching Jason Clarke brush his daughter's hair in the bath shouldn't be the most awful thing ever, and yet it is, as we hear the child speaking in a voice that's barely more than a whisper, and the fact that we never see her face makes it clear that we may not want to see her face.

A lot of people are looking forward to the new Pet Sematary, some with excitement, some perhaps with trepidation. It's one of Stephen King's more popular novels and it was previously made into a film that many have fond memories of, even if the movie's ultimate value might be questionable at best.

I don't have a dog in this fight. While I've read my share of Stephen King, Pet Sematary is not one of the books that I have any particular connection to. The trailers for the new movie, up to this point, while they've made the movie look reasonably good, haven't particularly made this one a "must see" for me.

That's changed quite a bit with this new trailer. The reanimated daughter being both a constant presence in the new trailer, while also being kept mostly hidden, works remarkably well and makes everything feel extra sinister. The trailer makes you want to see the movie in order to see what it's not showing, while also making you (or at least me) a little afraid to actually see what's being hidden.

Jason Clarke looks great as the heartbroken father who is willing to do something drastic because he's not willing to let his daughter go. It gives the story an emotional resonance that makes him sympathetic, even though what he's decided to do is clearly wrong.

By virtue of the one major change that this version of the story has made, even those well versed in Stephen King's story will certainly want to check out the new movie in order to see just how much else has been changed around and how it impacts the story as a whole. We could be getting a very different movie than people are expecting, which isn't a bad thing if it turns out to be good. Based on the early reactions, it seems that it very much is.

Pet Sematary hits theaters Friday.

There’s A Star Wars Burlesque Parody, Check Out The Trailer

There’s A Star Wars Burlesque Parody, Check Out The Trailer

While the release of Star Wars: Episode IX may feel like a galaxy far, far away, fans of the franchise can once again see their favorite Star Wars characters in burlesque show The Empire Strips Back, which is heading back to the United States and Canada-- following a successful debut last year. That’s right, the blockbuster space opera has inspired a highly-successful erotic show tour full of female Stormtroopers, a fiery take on Boba Fett and of course bikini Leia and Jabba the Hutt. Check out the show’s teaser below:

The Star Wars Burlesque Parody show promises appearances from just about every character in the film’s lore, including Chewie, C3PO, R2D2, a female Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and the Emperor’s Royal Guard from The Last Jedi! The show’s trailer nudges at some sultry and seductive takes on the characters of the franchise, while also setting a comedic tone-- as Greedo sprays on some hairspray in a dressing room and a cover of David Bowie’s “Star Man” plays in the background. Don’t be fooled – this show is geared for 18 and over!

The Empire Strips Back originated in Australia in 2011 and made its way to the United States in 2018. This year’s tour expands the show to Canada for two shows in Toronto and Montreal for the first time. The 20-date tour starts at the Balboa Theatre in San Diego, California on March 30 and closes out on May 4 (a.k.a. Star Wars Day) at the Playstation Theatre in New York City. Tickets start at around $39, depending on the venue.

When the show first made its way to the US last year, it apparently went through some “red tape” but could be shown thanks to similar parody laws between Australia and the United States. The show’s website gives this description. Read below:

…be prepared for some seriously sexy Stormtroopers, a dangerously seductive Boba Fett, some tantalising Twi'leks, a delightfully luke-warm Taun Taun, a lady-like Skywalker, the Droids you are looking for and much, much more!

The show was met with sold out tickets and rave reviews last year and has included Han Solo dancing out of carbonite to Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal”, the Death Star coming on stage to the tune of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” and many more hilariously strange moments of undress and escapism during the show.

Star of Firefly and The Rookie Nathan Fillion reps the show on the site with the words: “The best episode of Star Wars I’ve ever seen…” Of course if you're not into burlesque, another upcoming Star Wars attraction is the recently moved up opening of Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World on August 29 and Disneyland May 31.

Robert Downey Jr. Shares Inside Look At Tony’s Most Epic Scene In Avengers: Endgame

Robert Downey Jr. Shares Inside Look At Tony’s Most Epic Scene In Avengers: Endgame

Warning: SPOILERS for Avengers: Endgame are ahead!

We knew going into Avengers: Endgame that this was going to be an especially big movie for Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark since it was the culmination of a story that he helped kick off in 2008’s Iron Man, as well as the fact that this was the final movie on Downey’s Marvel contract. Sure enough, Endgame saw Tony making the ultimate sacrifice to vanquish Thanos and his forces, and Downey has shared a behind-the-scenes look at Tony’s last act in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Following in the footsteps of Thanos and The Hulk, Tony Stark became the third individual to channel the power of all six Infinity Stones on screen, only like his buddy Bruce Banner, Tony inserted the Stones into his own nanotech Infinity Gauntlet. Alas, Robert Downey Jr. was not wearing such a glove in real life, as you can see from the above picture he posted on Instagram. That was completely CGI.

Nevertheless, this was one of the most epic moments in Avengers: Endgame, as just when it seemed like the Thanos from 2014 was going to erase the entire universe and replace it with a new one, it turned out that Tony Stark had swiped the Infinity Stones from Thanos’ gauntlet to put in his own. One snap later, and Thanos and his forces all turned to dust. Unfortunately, a normal human wasn’t meant to use all the Infinity Stones, so Tony lost his life to save all of existence.

Since Robert Downey Jr. knew going into Avengers: Endgame that this would be his last Marvel movie, you have to imagine filming these scenes were emotional for him, especially Tony Stark’s Infinity Snap. Not only does Tony deliver one last heroic act in the MCU, his utterance of “And I… am Iron Man” reminds of when Tony told the press that same thing at the end of the first Iron Man movie, setting the stage for a franchise unlike any ever seen before.

Tony Stark would stick around long enough to say goodbye to War Machine, Spider-Man and his wife, Pepper Potts, but that snap ended his story. All the major characters we’ve met in the MCU over the years attended his funeral, and while his daughter Morgan is only 5 right now, perhaps she’ll become an important player in this franchise later down the line, carrying on where her father left off.

But Avengers: Endgame didn’t close the book on Tony Stark’s story. It also capped off the tale of Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, who chose to stay in the past with Peggy Carter and passed on his vibranium shield to Sam Wilson, a.k.a. Falcon, as an elderly man. Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow, also died during Endgame, but because her solo movie is coming up, we’ll at least get to learn more about her pre-Avengers years.

Be sure to read CinemaBlend’s review of Avengers: Endgame and stay tuned to CinemaBlend for more updates on the future of the MCU. If you’re curious about what movies are already lined up, look through our handy guide.

The Gambit Movie Has Been Shelved

The Gambit Movie Has Been Shelved
Gambit comics

Earlier today, Disney announced a lot of new release date information, which included three new Star Wars movies being slotted and both the Avatar sequels and The New Mutants being delayed. But there was one movie conspicuously absent from the updated Disney calendar: Gambit. Yes, it appears that after years in development hell, Gambit has finally been shelved.

Ever since Gambit was officially announced back in 2014, five years after Taylor Kitsch played the first live action incarnation of Remy LeBeau in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it’s been repeatedly been delayed, and when last we heard, it was supposed to come out on March 13, 2020. However, now Disney has acquired 21st Century Fox, and rather than continue that studio’s pattern of pushing Gambit back, the Mouse House has opted to just take the movie off the board entirely.

Barring some surprise announcement later down the line, the five-year saga of attempting to give Gambit his own solo movie has ended. That’s a shame for Channing Tatum, who’s been attached to play Tatum since Gambit officially entered development. Maybe he’ll find another opportunity to play a superhero down the line, but throwing energized playing cards is not in his future.

Even if Disney had been willing to still release Gambit, there’s no way it would have been ready to go by that March 2020 date. Following the departures of Rupert Wyatt, Doug Liman and Gore Verbinski over the years, Gambit had still not found a replacement director. The movie also changed a lot from how it was originally conceived, but alas, we won’t get to see this particular tale unfold.

Gambit’s removal, as well as the cancellation of all the other X-Men spinoffs in development, further signals the end of the X-Men franchise that began in 2000. Dark Phoenix is wrapping up the main X-Men film series next month, and while Disney is insistent that we’ll see The New Mutants next year, it’ll likely just be a standalone tale rather than spawn sequels.

The only thing that will be staying the same when it comes to Marvel’s mutant properties is Deadpool, as Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently said that there are no plans to change the Merc with the Mouth. But other than that, it’s believed that the X-Men franchise will be rebooted to fit within the Marvel Cinematic Universe continuity, although it will be a while until that happens.

Maybe there’s a future for Gambit within the MCU’s forthcoming X-Men adaptations; just because he was never able to star in his own movie doesn’t mean he can’t be an important player in ensemble pieces. Regardless, fingers crossed that someday there’s a book written about all the effort that went into trying to get the Gambit movie off the ground.

Stay tuned to CinemaBlend for all the latest and greatest updates concerning Marvel movies. You can learn what’s coming to the MCU in our comprehensive guide, or you can plan your trips to the theater later this year with our 2019 release schedule.

Should Marvel Introduce The Black Knight In Avengers: Endgame?

Should Marvel Introduce The Black Knight In Avengers: Endgame?

Avengers: Endgame isnt just a never-ending hype machine. Its also a never-ending rumor machine, and each one just feeds into each other in an endless loop. One of the latest rumors that recently began picking up steam was that Endgame would be introducing the superhero known as the Black Knight. Hes a pretty random character to include, but April solicitations for Marvel Comics hint that there might actually be some meat to this rumor.

I wouldn't blame anyone for not knowing about the Black Knight. He's a C-List Marvel character who has gone through a few different incarnations over the years. One of the most prominent versions of the Black Knight is Nathan Garrett, a descendent of the same Black Knight from Arthurian Legend. He becomes a super villain, battles the Avengers, and is eventually mortally wounded by Iron Man.

His nephew Dane Whitman takes up the mantle and becomes a superhero to redeem his family. He wields a cursed sword called the Ebony Blade, rides a pegasus, and joins the Avengers. It's this version of the character that's relevant to us and the one that Marvel may be teeing up for a theatrical debut.

Marvel Comics is no stranger to building up hype for Marvel movies. Usually, the comics have some sort of tie-in for an upcoming movie such as releasing Civil War 2 in time for the feature film or incorporating movie costumes into the pages.

All of that just makes good business sense and with Endgame being one of the biggest movies of the year, you better believe the comics are going to do something to capitalize on that!

Solicitations for Marvels April issues recently arrived online. For those who dont know, these are all the comics that Marvel will be releasing that month, and usually, they are good teases for upcoming storylines months in advance.

Notably, Marvel has decried that April is Avengers True Believers Month, and will be releasing a series of reprints of classic Marvel issues. Not so coincidentally, all of these issues are tied to major characters in the final two Avengers films like Thanos, Gamora, Nebula, Ronin, and even Thors hammer, Stormbreaker. Even less coincidentally, April is when Endgame premieres in theaters.

What internet theorists have noticed is that two of these issues feature the Black Knight. Specifically, the two issues are Avengers (1963) #260 and #343. The Black Knight was a part of the Avengers for these stories, which has helped give these Avengers: Endgame rumors a boost. Of all the thousands of issues that Marvel could have chosen, is it just a coincidence that two of them have the Black Knight?

Well, maybe. Avengers #260 is a Nebula story while #343 is a seemingly obscure tale about evil Avengers from another dimension that try to kill the good ones. The inclusion of the latter is super interesting and people might want to pay more attention to that, but as far as the Black Knight goes, he does have a little bit more backing him than this reprint.

Rumors about the Black Knights involvement began even before the solicitations. Jeremy Conrad of MCU Cosmic tweeted that he had heard that the MCU had plans for Black Knight and that they already knew how hed be introduced. The tweet was accompanied by a picture of the secret city in the Quantum Realm that was briefly glimpsed in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

The implication is that Black Knight is from this interdimensional city, which is a departure from the comics, but it wouldn't be the first time the movies went off script. The reliability of those rumors is up for debate, but coupled with Avengers True Believers Month, it gets a little bit stronger.

It is odd that the Black Knight of all characters would be featured twice on these reprints, but that could be chalked up to a coincidence. These issues aren't strictly about the Black Knight and he just happens to be on the Avengers during these particular missions. Another character, Hercules (literally the same Greek god from mythology), also shows up in those same issues, and I doubt that Marvel has plans for him. We've got already got Thor filling the god quota and Wonder Woman has the market cornered on Greek mythology.

That being said, it might not be such a bad idea to introduce Dane Whitman to the MCU. As a medieval knight, he brings something different to the table that no other hero does. Even if the knight stuff is too much for people, the character does have costumes that tone down his knighthood, making him a bit more relatable. There's certainly no other character that has that same aesthetic right now in the MCU.

Additionally, his lack of popularity means that Marvel can get away with altering his character and story as much as they see fit. It's a lot easier to make changes to a lesser known character than a popular one like Spider-Man, where there's fan backlash if you go too far in one direction. I can't see too many people getting worked into a tizzy over the Black Knight.

In fact, this is a character who could benefit from an update. His heyday was back in the '80s when he was on the Avengers and Marvel hasn't really been able to find much use for the character since. It could be that the MCU is just what he needs. Even Iron Man and Captain America were struggling to get mainstream attention before the MCU, so the movies could bring a necessary spark of life.

Even if Avengers: Endgame ends up being three hours long like it's rumored to be, it's tough to imagine how the movie possibly has enough time to introduce an entirely new character. Endgame already is going to be busy enough trying to wrap up all the Avengers' storylines, but the Black Knight cameo might not be extensive. It could be as simple as a name drop.

I doubt Marvel is spilling the beans on this anytime soon and we'll surely learn more the closer we get to April 26.
