Dont Worry, Thors Roommate Darryl Survived Thanos Snap

Earlier this year, Thanos snapped his fingers, unleashed the full force of the Infinity Stones, and wiped out half of the universe. Avengers: Infinity War proved itself as the most devastating Marvel movie yet, leaving many to wonder which characters survived the film. One specific personality that some have wondered about is Thor's roommate, Darryl, and luckily, we can now confirm that the lovable housemate survived -- though he's now saddled with much more work at his job. Check out a video posted by Daley Pearson, below!

So, not only did Thor survive Thanos' finger snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, but his beloved roommate managed to make it out alive as well. As that video lays out, Darryl was left unaffected by Thanos' actions, but he was indirectly very inconvenienced because the deaths of half of his co-workers resulted in far more work. Goodbye, half of the universe, and goodbye Sundays.

Of course, there's a reason why this video was posted in the first place; it served as a happy birthday message to Chris Hemsworth/Thor. At the end of the clip, Darryl plays the Happy Birthday song for his former roommate, and we're left to hope that we will one day see a reunion between these two buddies.

While this video obviously offers up a hilarious return for Darryl, it also hammers home the profoundly dark effects of Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and The Wasp's endings. Not only did half of the Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes perish when Thanos snapped his fingers, but half of all life in the galaxy was wiped from existence. We still don't entirely know what that means in terms of how the Marvel world will be affected, but something tells us that Avengers 4 will likely go into much deeper detail to explore how the world has changed in the wake of that genocidal act.

For those of you who have no idea who Darryl is, he debuted in the viral "Team Thor" video that premiered online near the release of Captain America: Civil War. Directed by Thor: Ragnarok filmmaker Taika Waititi, the short hilariously explained where Thor was during the events of Civil War and offered up some great moments for Chris Hemsworth to show off his comedic chops. Avengers: Infinity War Is Setting A Number Of Mind-Blowing Ticket Records At Fandango

It's no secret that Avengers: Infinity War will represent the Marvel Cinematic Universe's biggest filmmaking effort to date when it premieres on April 27. The film will bring all of its most prominent heroes together for one massive battle, and the trailers already suggest a scale unlike anything that we have seen from the MCU before. Now it looks like that scale has not gone unnoticed by fans because Avengers: Infinity War's has already set several notable records in early ticket sales.

With the debut of Avengers: Infinity War only a couple of weeks away, early ticket sales have officially kicked into high-gear, and they bode incredibly well for the film's box office performance. In fact, according to the information provided by Fandango, Avengers: Infinity War's has already surpassed the combined early ticket sales for the previous seven Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. You read that correctly, the COMBINED ticket sales of the last seven MCU movies. We don't know precisely how much Avengers: Infinity War will make yet, but this is big.

Of course, this is only one of the latest accolades that Avengers: Infinity War has managed to lock down on its road to the big screen. In addition to beating out the previous seven Marvel films, Infinity War has also beaten Fandango's April pre-sale records (beating out Furious 7), and it's now on track to surpass Black Panther's pre-sale numbers as well. Moreover, the film's trailers have consistently racked up insane numbers of views upon their respective debuts online, and the film shattered ticket sale records when pre-sale started online last month.

Obviously, there's plenty of cause for celebration over at Disney and Marvel Studios, particularly on the heels of the similarly-successful premiere of Black Panther in February. Ryan Coogler's Marvel movie just surpassed Titanic to become the third highest-grossing film of all time (only trailing Avatar and The Force Awakens), but now it looks like Avengers: Infinity War may actually be on track to pull off a similar feat. Will Infinity War beat Black Panther? We don't know yet, about the early numbers are nothing if not promising.

The key here is that Avengers: Infinity War appears to represent the culmination of a decade-long storyline. This movie will provide a climax for every Marvel narrative planted since the debut of Iron Man in 2008, and all of the marketing for the project seems to promise a strong sense of finality -- even though Avengers 4 will follow one year later on May 3, 2019. Much of Infinity War's core storyline remains firmly under wraps at this point, but if nothing else, it seems pretty clear that Marvel has done an excellent job of selling this project to an eager audience.

We will see exactly how big Avengers: Infinity War truly is when the film debuts later this month on April 27.
